CCF Schedules Two Winter Conferences
The California Chiropractic Foundation (CCF) has scheduled two Winter Conferences, one February 1-2 in Burlingame and the other February 29-March 1 in Los Angeles. The topics will be "DCs for the 90s: Industrial Ergonomic Specialists" and "Personal Injury: Taking the Lead."
Speakers will include Howard J. Ross, medical management consultant; Matthew Rosenstein, D.C., certified safety engineer; Christopher Weston, D.C. and Garrett Casey, D.C., both personal injury workers' compensation experts. The personal injury portion of the conference will feature a live arbitration, moderated by Shawn Steel, personal injury attorney.
Non-CCA members will be able to attend the CCF Winter Conference in Los Angeles at the member rate.

FCER Collaborates with NIH
The Foundation for Chiropractic Education and Research (FCER) and the National Institutes of Health (NIH) have begun a collaboration on several issues.
- The FCER has been asked to submit reviewer's names for federal grants
- FCER's Director of Research Steve Wolk, Ph.D., has been invited to apply for membership on the Scientific Review Committee for the NIH and the Alcohol, Drug Abuse, and Mental Health Administration. The invitation was from Jerome G. Green, M.D., Director of the NIH Division of Research Grants.
- FCER has submitted a $40,648 grant to NIH for sponsorship of the 1992 International Conference on Spinal Manipulation (ICSM) to the Agency for Health Care Policy and Research (AHCPR).
- FCER's Executive Director Stephen R. Seater, CAE, met with Michael S. Kaplan, Ph.D., M.D., director of the Physical Functioning Program of the National Institute on Aging. They discussed NIH funding of chiropractic research on the aged.
WSCC President Named Executive of the Year
President of Western States Chiropractic College (WSCC), in Portland, Oregon, Dr. William H. Dallas, was named "Executive of the Year" by the Executive Women International organization.
New Palmer Dean of Clinics
Dr. Garry T. Krakos has been named the Dean of Clinics at Palmer College. In this position, Dr. Krakos will assume responsibility for overall management of all four Palmer Chiropractic Clinics located in both Iowa and Illinois.
Dr. Krakos is a 1979 graduate of Palmer College. He is an assistant professor in the clinic, and has been a member of the Palmer faculty since 1985.
