JNS: Journal of the Neuromusculoskeletal System, a quarterly, peer-review journal dedicated to the advancement of knowledge of disorders of the musculoskeletal system and the nonoperative management of those problems, premieres March 1993.
The editor-in-chief of JNS is Scott Haldeman, D.C., M.D., Ph.D., and Rand Swenson, D.C., M.D., Ph.D. is editor. The new journal is sponsored by the American Chiropractic Association and the Foundation for Chiropractic Education and Research. Some 10,000 full-members of the ACA will be receiving JNS as a free benefit of membership.
JNS welcomes first-quality, original research and clinically-oriented research manuscripts; longer review studies; and properly executed and documented case studies in all areas reflecting the manifestations of neuromusculoskeletal function and dysfunction.
JNS Editor Dr. Rand Swenson sees the journal increasing the "interaction between scientists and practicing clinicians."
Dr. Lucido of the ACA seconded that concern: "Part of the problem is that the practice of chiropractic is ahead of the science of chiropractic."
