Because they have yet to pass national legislation protecting the chiropractic profession, Japanese DCs are in a similar situation that U.S. DCs faced. We were fortunate enough to be able to pass chiropractic licensure state by state. The DCs in Japan must accomplish this nationally, which has proved to be an extremely difficult task. And in spite of their efforts, Japanese DCs are currently faced with two chiropractic professions.
Dr. Reginald Gold Donates $125,000 to Sherman College
SPARTANBURG, South Carolina -- Reginald Gold, DC, a distinguished international chiropractic lecturer from Gladwyne, Pennsylvania, has given Sherman College of Straight Chiropractic the largest single donation since the school's inception in 1973.
Dr. Gold explained his generous donation: "Everything I have, everything I hope to have, everything I am or ever hope to be, I owe to chiropractic."
Long associated with Sherman College, Dr. Gold served as Sherman's first academic dean; he also held the positions of vice president and dean of philosophy with the college.
Dr. Gold also spearheaded the founding of the ADIO Chiropractic College, which became the Pennsylvania College of Straight Chiropractic in 1978.
"I can't adequately express what Reggie means to Sherman," said Sherman President Thom Gelardi. "Reggie is one of the few people who lives the philosophy he espouses. This gift is just another example of his constant giving to Sherman and the chiropractic profession."
How does it feel to give $125,000? "The giving is actually painless," Dr. Gold asserted. "It is only making up your mind to do it that causes fear. Overcome that, and the rest is easy," he explained.
