It’s a new year and many chiropractors are evaluating what will enhance their respective practices, particularly as it relates to their bottom line. One of the most common questions I get is: “Do I need to be credentialed to bill insurance, and what are the best plans to join?” It’s a loaded question – but one every DC ponders. Whether you're already in-network or pondering whether to join, here's what you need to know.
Life West Broadcasts Live Online Homecoming
This year's homecoming at Life Chiropractic College West featured a three-and-one-half hour live internet broadcast of the festivities, replete with guest interviews and demonstrations of the museum's exhibits.
The Oct. 24 event ("Explore Chiropractic") was held at the San Francisco Exploratorium, a world-renowned museum with more than 500 exhibits showcasing science, art and human perception.
The students, alumni and others affiliated with Life West in San Lorenzo, California unable to attend the homecoming were able to log on the college's website as virtual guests to participate in the celebration.
"To our knowledge, this was the first chiropractic event broadcast on the internet," said Jonathan Lance, the college's public relations manager.
"The broadcast quality was superb," observed LCCW President Dr. Gerard Clum. "A number of those who tuned in said it was better quality than the Fox website and approaching the CNN level of quality."
Dr. Clum predicted more internet broadcasts in the future for the school. He noted that the broadcast only cost $4,000, and was responsible for 10 times the number of hits on the college's website.
Online viewers were able to view the presentations of the alumni association's awards. Dr. Ari Diskin of Melbourne, Australia (class of 1984) received the alumnus award; Nina Robinson, a junior, was honored as student of the year.
