A historic meeting between chiropractic and Make America Healthy Again (MAHA) leadership took place on March 10th, 2026, in Washington, D.C., featuring representatives from chiropractic national organizations, professional associations and policy principals. The collective goal: advancing the role of chiropractic in improving the health of Americans. Meeting participants focused on long-standing issues that have affected the chiropractic profession for decades, including access to care, reimbursement parity, and ensuring DCs have an appropriate role in national health policy discussions.

Breaking out of the Box
Dear Editor:
Pigeonholed? I don't think so. Your column in the June 29, 1998 issue of Dynamic Chiropractic ("The Building Blocks of Wellness") was interesting, coming from Dynamic Chiropractic, and hopefully inspiring to your readers.
Chiropractic finds itself having to climb out of a box because chiropractors have designed, constructed and chosen to live in that box. If 97 percent of chiropractic patients see a DC for musculoskeletal problems, it is because the chiropractor told them that is what chiropractic is for. It is also a reflection of what the chiropractor was taught in chiropractic college.
Since you have decided to champion the wellness cause in chiropractic, I will look forward to reading in your column your thoughts on chiropractic moving to become mainstream medicine.
Doctors of chiropractic medicine, as recent legislation in Florida would have us labeled and as Western States Chiropractic College would have us trained, do not seem to be consistent with creating a chiropractic paradigm, thought process or world view.
I agree with you that chiropractic should become well-known as the champions of wellness and quality of life, but not because some other health care profession may claim the title before chiropractic does. I want the public to understand that this is the essence of chiropractic, and I sincerely hope that you will be successful in helping other chiropractors understand the role of chiropractic in a person's life.
