Because they have yet to pass national legislation protecting the chiropractic profession, Japanese DCs are in a similar situation that U.S. DCs faced. We were fortunate enough to be able to pass chiropractic licensure state by state. The DCs in Japan must accomplish this nationally, which has proved to be an extremely difficult task. And in spite of their efforts, Japanese DCs are currently faced with two chiropractic professions.
ChiroWeb on TV News
The growing interest in chiropractic care has caused many to seek reliable information about chiropractic on the internet. We see this first hand by the increasing traffic to our website, www.ChiroWeb.com. ChiroWeb is also getting attention from the media, as witnessed by the recent segment aired on the "Healthy Solutions" television program, which was broadcast nationally on CNBC and the Health Network.1
In addition to the airings, a video news release was made available to television news programs across the country. As further evidence of the demand for reliable information on chiropractic, television stations in Colorado, Louisiana, Montana, New Mexico, and Texas aired ChiroWeb's chiropractic news release 42 times.
In addition to the over four million viewers that learned about chiropractic and ChiroWeb on the Healthy Solutions television program, an estimated 692,515 additional viewers2 saw a shorter segment on their local television news programs.
While the combined exposure is relatively small when compared to the 250 million people in the U.S., it does reflect the fact that the public and the media are interested in more information about chiropractic and its benefits.
