Kentuckiana: Carrying on Dr. Golden's Work

As Kentuckiana Children's Center enters the middle of its third year without its founder and long-time executive administrator, Dr. Lorraine M. Golden, I want to thank her once again for being a pioneer and trailblazer for children and chiropractic. Her work changed many children's lives - past, present and future. Because of her dreams and hard work, thousands of children have experienced improved health. As adults, many now support Kentuckiana with their time, treasures and talent. Today, we continue to educate children and families about the benefits of chiropractic care for everyone.

Dr. Golden's work also changed the chiropractic profession. She was one of the first DCs to enjoy the success of implementing chiropractic care as part of a child's multidisciplinary health care team. She didn't say, "Chiropractic care should be used instead of this or that." She said, "Chiropractic care should be used in addition to this or that." Today, when alternative health care options are more common than in Dr. Golden's time, we look back at her work and see it as cutting-edge. She created a multidisciplinary facility centered around chiropractic care.

There are about 60,000 chiropractors in the United States. Less than 1,000 contribute to Kentuckiana Children's Center. When considering where to send your charitable dollars, please remember the first chiropractic nonprofit facility in the country. Last year, Kentuckiana changed 147 children's lives. Please help us to continue our work with these children, and many more. Your gift to the center is tax-deductible. While any gift is appreciated, we are especially grateful for "Leadership" gifts ($1,000+), which can be paid in monthly installments of less than $100.
