  • Research (clinical, basic science, and educational)
    (e.g., experimental trials, quantitative clinical research, case reports, qualitative educational research, experimental classroom research, descriptive designs, etc.)

  • Evaluation of Instruction
    (e.g., assessing quality of instruction, faculty and/or student viewpoints of student evaluation of instruction, faculty peer review, quality assurance methods, etc.)

  • Professionalism/Ethics
    (e.g., professionalism and ethics curricula, professionalism and ethics in research, human subjects issues, students views of professionalism and ethics, legal issues, professionalism and ethics in the clinical setting, faculty issues, etc.)

  • Faculty/ Personnel Development
    (e.g., faculty development programs, personnel development programs, research development programs etc.)
  1. Submission checklist:
  • Cover page: Include title, all author names, degrees and institutional affiliation(s), information (address, phone number, fax number and e-mail address) to contact the lead author.

    Abstract (for publication in the proceedings if accepted): The abstract, which represents the proposal, should be 600 words maximum.

  • One copy of abstract on a disc in Microsoft Word.

     

  • One hard copy of abstract.

    Proposal (for peer review evaluation): 1,800 words maximum, in 12-point type font, 8 1/2" x 11" paper, double-spaced. References should be submitted and are not included in the word count. You may submit up to two of any combination of the following: diagrams, figures, pictures, graphs or tables (e.g. one graph and one table). Only submit these if they are essential for the peer reviewers to evaluate the proposal. Proposals over 1,800 words will be rejected.

     

  • One hard copy of proposal with author and institutional information.

     

  • One hard copy of proposal blinded for peer review (no author names and no institutional affiliation included in title or text of the blinded copy).

Both the proposal and the abstract must include: introduction (e.g., background, objectives, purpose), methods, results, discussion and conclusion sections. If the proposal and abstract do not meet the above requirements, they will be refused without review.

Note: Completed works will be given priority. Please do not submit concept proposals.

Deadline for submission: postmarked on or before August 23, 2001. Submit completed packet to:
