Honoring a Chiropractic Icon
Dr. Louis Sportelli received the Lee-Homewood Chiropractic Heritage Award during the annual conference of the Association for the History of Chiropractic (AHC). During his nearly 60-year career, Dr. Sportelli has embodied the spirit of the award, given to “living individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the chiropractic profession.”
Dr. Sportelli has advocated for chiropractic and its rightful place in the health care system throuhgout his career while serving in a variety of distinguished capacities within the profession, including president of the World Federation of Chiropractic, chairman of the American Chiropractic Association, president of NCMIC Group, and current president of the NCMIC Foundation.
Logan Opens Historic Women's Center
Logan University has become “the first university worldwide to house a women’s health clinic on its premises” with the opening of the Foot Levelers Women’s Health Clinic. Foot Levelers gifted $50,000 to the clinic, including $25,000 to support clinic services and $25,000 toward the Women’s Endowed Scholarship, intended to “foster the next generation of female chiropractic professionals.” The clinic is led by Emily Kliethermes, DC.
“Women’s health is at the forefront of health care and we are beyond excited to be a leader in this area,” said Dr. Kliethermes. “It’s vital that women feel heard and that their symptoms are taken seriously by healthcare professionals. I am honored to help women in our area live their best lives and help their bodies work at optimal levels by offering chiropractic care, along with nutritional and lifestyle modifications.”
WFC Launches Multilingual Website
The World Federation of Chiropractic has completely redesigned its website, utilizing machine learning to provide site visitors with a customized experience based on their preferred language.
